Reading Rewards
Successful completion of the Summer Reading Challenge!
It was great to see the Norfolk Library Service visit to reward and recognise those children for successfully completing the Summer Reading Challenge during the holidays. Lots of badges and certificates were given out and smiles could be seen all around.
Our priority plans for improvement over the course of this year are being discussed and generated and I am thrilled that we have lots of positive things to look forward to over the coming months. Further training opportunities have been arranged for staff to upskill themselves even more.
I was especially pleased to see that the new Pupil Voice committee members have been chosen and will look forward to the meetings ahead with the Year 6 Junior Leaders from each House Team. Their first job will be to name the new Immersive Learning Environment, so let us see how imaginative they can be.
During this week and next, I have had and will continue to have the pleasure of visiting classrooms to see how teachers are getting on and find out even more about how pupils are learning.
Yesterday, I had a fantastic meeting with some of our parents, who are willing to form our new PTFA. I am really pleased about this because it means that a programme of meaningful fundraising can be reimplemented. We are looking forward to discos, fayres and midweek movies to name but a few things that are popular.
Next week, on Wednesday, the Year 6 pupils have their heights and weights being checked. On Friday, we have our Macmillan Cake sale for a worthy cause in the afternoon from 3:00pm onwards, which will enable pupils to purchase something after school. We also need your generous donations of packaged or homemade baked goodies to sell in order to raise as much money as possible.
Have a great weekend everyone!
