Football Fever!

On Monday, the Federation of schools commemorated Anti-Bullying Week by adorning odd socks and working on the important message of the campaign. Our Peer Mentors will be attending Anti-Bullying training in December under the Diana Award Team, so they will learn a lot from this occasion and be even better ambassadors than they are now. 

The Years 5 & 6 Girls' football team played their re-arranged cup fixture against Cliff Park on Tuesday and despite valiant efforts from all players, the strength and skill of our opponents got the better of us and we lost 4-0. Well done to all players who took part. The team then had another fixture against Northgate Primary on Friday and, again, played so well in a more evenly matched game. The fact the boys were playing on the larger pitch meant they could play on the smaller one, which was a real bonus and made attacking a little easier. The team went on to win 3-0, which has given the players such a lot of confidence. Great stuff girls!

Similarly, the Years 5 & 6 Boys' team played against Northgate Primary simultaneously with the girls' team and the team have been playing very well of late, but just not getting that little bit of Lady Luck to turn our efforts into victories. We created many chances, but also defended superbly in the match going on to win 5-1. Northgate were a well-organised outfit, but we were determined to gain our first victory. Well done boys!

I was very pleased with the notification that three of our children had been shortlisted from the recent Pink Plane Competition in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness courtesy of Saxon Air. They will attend a careers' day at the company Headquarters at Norwich Airport and see whether their design and model has been selected as the overall winner. Well done to them for their efforts.

Next week, Year 6 have their Crucial Crew trip on Wednesday, which is on the same day as the Norfolk stage of the Cross-Country for our six participants after they previously finished in the top ten at the Bure Park round. We wish them well in their races. Come on Ormesby! Our Year 3 class also get to benefit from a hot roast dinner with a senior citizen from within their family on Thursday, which will see those attending entertained by our choir and tantalised by our school cooks.
