Rugby Title Retained!
Tag-Rugby Team return triumphant for the second year in a row!
It is not often that smaller schools, like Ormesby get to savour sporting successes, but this week I was able to return to Lowestoft and Yarmouth Rugby Club with another team to take part in a local school tournament. The weather conditions were terrible and the pitch was extremely slippery, but the children selected played superbly implementing everything they had been taught to win every single match. Due to a couple of school withdrawals the team only got to play in four different matches, but each time they dug in and performed. The final victory was literally with the last play of the game and we wondered if it would stand, but the referee confirmed it did, so we won 3-2 in a shortened game time of five minutes due to the cold. Had it have been the normal match time, our endurance and skill would have made the game more secure without doubt. Sometimes, I feel organisations miss opportunities to enable schools to achieve success, as there was no trophy awarded, but back at school I presented the team with the school trophy to parade to other pupils and staff. The Federation and I could not have been prouder. Could we achieve a hatrick of wins next year? Let us see.
Tuesday saw Safer Internet Day and each class spent some time going through some internet safety studies and completing some activities to ensure our children keep safe online. With technology playing such a significant part in modern society, it is essential the children from a young age have the knowledge to avoid potential risks and dangers, whether this be through gaming, internet surfing or simply inputting their personal and sensitive details online.
Next week, the Juniors have their midweek movie courtesy of the PTFA on Thursday and on Friday make sure the children are in PE kits, as we have an enrichment day of cheerleading as a treat.
Have a great weekend everyone!
