Year 6 JLT prepare memory boxes for the elderly!
The Junior Leaders from Year 6 have completed their memory boxes in readiness for visiting a local residential home for the elderly to share their experiences whilst at the same time tackling loneliness. They all look great and the children have put a lot of thought into them. We shall be visiting the residential home in Martham on 20.3.24.
Rehearsals have been in full swing with Mrs. White-Joubert in preparation for the Norfolk County Music Festival. Today, saw the Juniors travel over to the Infant school to have their first combined practice. It was a challenge with the weather, but it will be worth it in the end as they always perform so well. Do not forget the performance is at the King's Centre in Norwich on 12.3.24 about 11:00am and parents can pay on the door £4.50 to spectate.
The weather held off just enough for the Years 5 & 6 Boys' and Girls' football teams to play their re-arranged fixture against Martham. Both teams performed very well against this larger school and seeing everyone enjoy themselves representing Ormesby makes me very proud. The girls won in a 4-3 thriller and the boys lost in a battling game 4-1 (2 without the penalty). Ormesby always give everything to the very end. Well done guys!
Next week, it is World Book Day on Thursday 7th March and we are encouraging children to come in either dressed as their favourite children's book character or come in warmly in pyjamas as the theme is Bedtime Stories. We also have the Travelling Book Fair to look forward to, which will be fun. It is going to be held in the Pre-Loved Uniform shop at the end of each day and on Monday there will be teas and coffees available.
Have great weekend everyone!
