Two Filby Heads are better than one!
Filby House Captains become Headteachers for the Day!
Hello! We are the Filby House Captains and we have been Headteachers for the Day. We have enjoyed being able to lead an assembly at the Infant school. We liked giving them their awards and certificates. We completed a learning walk and asked the children about how they were helped to make their work better. We got some good answers. We read to the Infant children too, which was different. We helped Mr. Young set up the two pitches for the football matches after school and we got to spend some money on resources for our nature area. It was a long day, but an enjoyable one.
What an end to the week it has been. Sporting enrichment from Premier in Lacrosse and a double header of football fixtures against Stalham Infant and Junior Schools. Both these events, whilst balancing two Headteachers for the Day. At least they had an enjoyable day.
Fantastic final day of the half-term saw two friendly fixtures take place against Stalham Infant and Junior Schools. Both matches enabled many new children the opportunity to represent the Federation for the first time. In the girls' fixture, there was a debut goal helping the team to go on to a well-earned victory. It was great to see a steely doggedness to out-battle their opponents during the game and so many smiling faces after their win. The boys' match saw a defeat, but the effort and determination were evident from everyone with some outstanding goalkeeping and relentless hounding at the other end. The Federation is very proud of you all. Thank you for the support for both teams. Our Sporting Code of Conduct has been sent out as a reminder to all those attending sporting fixtures. Please ensure all have a read of it before attending future fixtures,
Lacrosse was good fun and something not experienced by the children previously. There were some interesting shots as it took a little while for the control of the stick to be mastered. Thank you Premier for your enrichment session.
Please remember, we return on Monday 3rd June and in that week we have D-Day celebrations to look forward to and the class photos.
Have a great half-term everyone.
