Vikings! Vikings!

Was there a Viking Invasion at the school?

Another busy week comes to an end, but I must say I had a great time at the Year 6 SATS boosting and not because we had sweets available, not to mention Jaffa cake bites, but the children are really putting in a lot of effort in the sessions. I am thrilled the children are being so responsible about their learning and they clearly want to do the best they can when the time for the tests comes around.

I also enjoyed the Years 5 & 6 football session on Thursday where the boys really played the small sided game in the correct spirit and competed well. You always know when the camaraderie is in existence because they were laughing between themselves at the same time. It also gave me a chance to get in a sneaky shot at goal.

Year 3 went off to the Time and Tide Museum to learn even more about the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings. It seemed from the pictures that they soon became enlisted in the Viking Army ready to maraud up and down the coastline looking for treasures. Their behaviour was exceptional and they learnt a great deal. It makes me so proud to know our school pupils are commented on for how well they behave and for how polite they are. Well done Year 3.

Next week, I will have the chance of observing how well teachers are getting on at imparting that important knowledge to their children. I have no doubt I will enjoy what I see. I cannot wait for the children to impress me too. On Tuesday, some children will need to be excused boosting sessions so they can participate in a football fixture against some boys from Edward Worlledge. Fingers crossed we can give them a great game.

Have a great weekend everyone!
