Football Victory!

Boys' Football Team return in the new year with a victory!

The weather has been pretty cold, grim and wet this week and I was determined that our fixture was going to go ahead after so many had to be called off prior to Christmas. The children were extremely inspired for it to go ahead and I was so proud of them for giving everything and getting the positive result our good play deserved. Edward Worlledge played well also and this made for a very entertaining match in the rain. Well done boys! More fixtures are being arranged with other schools as we speak and for the girls also. Watch this space!

I have had to complete three different Health and Safety refresher courses this week, so I feel completely overloaded with Fire, Asbestos and Premises facts. Thankfully, Mr. O' Connor was present to go through the same training. The Bradford FC fire video from 1985 is always a harrowing watch. Certainly not for the faint-hearted. The safety committee will be wandering the site with me soon to ensure everything is as it should be.

Next week is National Storytelling Week and staff will be reading different extracts of a variety of stories for the children to choose between. I am sure the children will enjoy listening to the adults reading. On Friday, we also have Barton House Captains being Headteacher for the Day, so I will look forward to seeing how well they perform in the new role.

Hopefully, the rain will ease off for us all. Have a great weekend everyone!
