Head to the Top!
Filby House Captains lead the Federation as Headteachers for the Day!
Hello, we are the Filby House Captains. Today, we completed a learning walk in both schools asking pupils what they liked about their foundation curriculum learning this year. It was really beneficial to see the Year 6 completing their DT fairground projects, which has been extremely entertaining. They looked amazing. We got some really strong answers and used this to finish a summary for Mr. Young. We looked at the Year 6 fairground rides, which were amazing! We both enjoyed walking around and talking to all the year groups.
We also undertook a sweep of both sites outside to check whether the equipment was safe. We discovered a bench, which had seen better days, so we moved it away and will give Mr. O'Connor the list of other items to fix. Thankfully, there were only a few items.
After this, we read and replied to some emails and Mr Young showed us the plan for the immersive classroom, which is going into the old IT suite space during the Summer holidays. We have to say it looks brilliant! We think all of the other years will love it and benefit greatly from this resource.
Our Infant School assembly went well and the children loved getting their awards from us. It was also rewarding to read with the younger children.
Well done to the Filby House Captains, they have been a pleasure to have shadow me today and were a comical pair throughout the day. I did not think I could find anyone who enjoyed more biscuits than me, but now I have.
Next week, we have our sporting enrichment session with Premier Sports on Friday in table tennis, but we must come to school in uniform first and then change into our sporting clothes, because we have our group and class photographs to be taken.
Have a great weekend everyone!
