D-Day 80th Anniversary
D-Day remembered at village memorial!
It has been a hectic return after the Whitsun holiday and it was fantastic to see the School Council members walk sensibly down to the memorial in the village to show their respects. The Junior councillors read two poems well and observed the two minutes of silence responsibly. The event brought the Church, the Royal British Legion, schools and the wider community together to mark the occasion.
The Junior Leadership Team has been busy working on filming little snippets for a respect campaign to raise the profile of respect being shown to others. It was comical at times during the filming, but it has a serious meaning and they will then carry out an assembly with the other children to establish a higher expectation of respect.
The children had their class and leavers' photos this week and we hope several of you will purchase them as a memento. They did look good.
Next week, is the final week to collect signatures and stamps for the Ormesby University Graduation booklets. Remember this was an initiative that had to be managed by the pupil themselves gathering their record of extra-curricular attendance. The lovely graduation mortar boards, stoles and gowns have arrived and I am just waiting to see how many pupils hand in completed booklets after next Friday 14th June.
Have a great weekend everyone.
