Mini Headteachers! Big Jobs!

Barton House Captains become Headteachers for the Day!

Good afternoon everyone, we are the Barton House Captains and we have been lucky enough to experience being Headteachers for the day alongside Mr. Young. We started off our day by completing a learning walk on pupil engagement. This meant we had to visit each class in both schools and interact with pupils observing how much they were enjoying their learning. We are pleased to say that what we saw was very impressive. We led a whole-school Infant good work assembly, which was recognising pupils for their amazing talents from across the week.

In order to set a great example, we interacted with the children at breaktime. Gosh! That was extremely tiring. They have so much energy. As it was National Storytelling Week, we shared the different stories that each teacher was going to be reading after lunch. Once this time had passed, we were able to read 'We are Going on a Bear Hunt' ourselves to the Reception Class and all of the children joined in. They were also very lively.

Mr. Young also allowed us to purchase some new netballs to replace the ones that have been well used. All in all, it was an enjoyable day, apart from the cold weather because we had to walk to the Infant School and back twice. We wish the next House Captain pair good luck with their Headteacher experience.

It was a pleasure to have the Barton House Captains as my understudies today and they were a credit to the school and their families. I thought they carried out their duties exceptionally well especially the assembly which was undertaken with lots of confidence.

Thursday saw ENSFC visit to teach the Years 3 and 4 classes all about Lego Technology. The children followed instructions on IPADS and worked so well together as a team to construct the different moving creations. Lots of enjoyment was had by all and everyone behaved superbly.

Next week, we have Safer Internet day on Tuesday and our PTFA midweek movie on Thursday.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
